View Full Version : Musical Freestyle designers? A question for you

I mostly event, so take this for what it's worth. The most I'd probably ever rise to is a freestyle at Second level, and it wouldn't be anytime in the near future. :lol:

If you're not familiar with Scott D. Davis, go pandora/google it and listen for a while. He's done some VERY neat covers of Metallica and a few others (Hotel California comes to mind as an all-time favorite).

I am unfamiliar with the usual methods for putting together a freestyle, but am curious if any of his music (or similar artists that have covered non-traditional songs in a classical method) could be re-worked for a freestyle.

Absolutely. It's a great way to take different artist's music and make it have a similar thread, because all are done on piano. I just looked at piano solos. I don't know if he does anything different. My only comment about that is it is a little "light" in that there isn't an orchestra behind, so just piano doesn't always come off strong enough.
