I rode with Steve McAlister a few times. I really enjoyed the lessons, just couldn't afford it long term. And I wasn't a fan of LAEC. My horses just didnt do well there mentally.

Susan Artes and Francie Steinwell Carvin are at lower middle Ranch. Laura Santana is at Hansen Dam Equestrian Center where I am. I know she's done some higher level jumper stuff but I don't know to what extent. Jean Wingis subs for her sometimes.

I think everyone else is out in Moorpark/out of the city unfortunately.

Good luck!

I hate the "come ride with my trainer, they're the best" posts, but you should check out Edgar Pagan if you are willing to drive to Orange County. His website is in the process of getting up and running but he has a facebook page (which I try to check and maintain for him) PM if you want his contact info/background. I think I give a true assessment of the pros and cons. IMO he is the ultimate horseman and rider which far outweighs anything else (like the mediocre facility we ride at).
