I have the County Innovation in French bullhide arriving soon and I need to get new stirrup leathers that will be a little more "considerate" of it.. Im eyeing CWD calf lined ones, but I wanted to get some of your feedback, since this is my first time venturing outside of "grain leather":)

I highly recommend the Arc de Triomphe leathers. Very nice, relatively affordable, and are holding up AMAZINGLY well to regular use

Prestige leathers are all I use.

Here's some threads on the same topic-

I have these, which I love, I like the flat buckle and the fact that the "hardware" goes down a bit into the actual stirrup leather part, I got a lot of wear there on my old leathers. I am also a very sensitive person so when a buckle doesn't lay flat I'm not happy.

I have a pair of M. Toulouse and some Devoucoux ones. I like the Devoucouxs better because they're thinner than the Toulouse, (easier to take on and off my saddle). Both leathers are nice looking and durable though.

I have three pairs of them on three saddles. I sold the beval ones after a few weeks because every time I needed to adjust my irons I had to get off and almost pull my poor beastie over (at a whopping 17.2 and thick in the butt) trying to slide them through the stirrup bar on my saddle. And this was the saddle that's usually the easiest to adjust. Same thing almost with the Prestige, but I tolerated it for 4 months since it wasn't as bad. But the leathers were narrower, and in the narrower I sacrificed strength and ended up breaking one at the buckle landing off a jump. (Jump was maybe 3' and I didn't jump much bigger than that at the time.)

OP, thanks for posting this thread, as my leathers have been doing a number on my new (to me) N. Pessoa! I never thought that the grain of leather was the issue. Now I'll need to get some calfskin leathers :)

Any have the Pessoa leathers? They look calfskin to me but Dover doesn't say that in the description.
