I'm trying to learn the proper use of side reins. They aren't something I've ever really needed to use, but my current horse needs some improvement in his top line and I've heard longeing with side reins might help, in addition to our current conditioning program.

Any suggestions?

I have a copy of: Training Your Horse with Lunge & Long Reins by Christopher and Victoria Coldrey.

Copyrighted 1996. By Crowood Press.

Takes you from very beginning basics to lunging over poles and jumps. Also covers in hand and long reining.

The Lunging Manual by the National German Federation and the USDF Lunging Manual.

The USDF Longeing Manual is cheap and good. https://www.usdf.org/cgi-bin/commerce.exe?preadd=action&key=USDFLM&reference=/cgi-bin/commerce.exe%3Fsearch%3Daction%26keywords%3D%26sea rchstart%3D0%26template%3DPDGCommTemplates/FullNav/SearchResult.html%26category%3DLUNG
