Anyone know a supplier in the US that has/ can get the wintec saddles in brown? Or can you recommend an overseas shop?

Thanks!

I think they are made but don't know who'd offer them. You could probably special order a brown one in your preferred model. Maybe contact Bates/Wintec directly?

I recall when the Wintecs first made their appearance here (1980's) they offered them in wild colors like blue and burgundy. Ick. There was a guy in Minnesota who showed in the wild-colored Wintecs. Sure attracted attention.

Alan at Foxhunter is the go to guy for Bates~Wintecs (he's been saddle fitting for years as & also does adustments, repairs etc); the new brown Wintecs looks sooooo much better than the old caramel color :)

Are you looking for dressage specifically or will an AP do? I have a brown AP and I want black. It has changeable gullet, 17.5 seat CAIR...

Looked at the Wintec website and looks like all the dressage saddles are available in brown, even the 500, the one I'd like to have.

Guess I'll have to buy one from a British tack shop.

I'm in Australia (where they originated, although sadly not made here any more) and brown Wintecs are readily available.

I have a brown Wintec Pro that I just love. It's much nicer than the black suede.

Readily available in Canada as well, Wintec 500 dressage, Wintec Pro dressage, black or brown, CAIR or Wool

http://www.brubachersharness.ca/index1.html

(haven't spoken with the saddle fitter at Brubaker's but they do have a reputation as a good shop)

It does seem as if the Wintec Isabel is only available in black BUT if it's available in the UK, you might ask about having it brought over ...

(note this is synthetic wool as Alan will tell you, also talk to him about how it adjusts & how to maintain it, or switching over to real wool if that's what you want)

Just FYI, Wintec doesn't really stand behind their warranties unless you pester them and pester them. Since they tend to have issues with the tree points cracking, you might find out too late that you're going to have trouble getting the saddle fixed under warranty.

FYI--I have asked Brubachers about the brown dressage saddles and they were not able to get me one. I think the verbage in their listing is directly from the Wintec site.

I would try some of the larger tack shops and see if they can special order one for you.

While not a saddle, I love all things brown, and was able to special order a Charles Owen helmet from Dover. It was a model not commenly sold in the US.

Try smart pak and Dover and see if they could special order for you, I bet they can!

And I am curious to see what they say! I have the wintec close contact (in that carmel color, wish I bought it a year later and got the dark brown!). And I would love a brown dressage saddle.. and the wintec fits my mare SO WELL. humm
