I froze up like a statue! I don't think I used my lower legs once. :(

The good thing is my horse behaved herself and tried to do well, but we had quite a few blimps along the way. Also, everyone was super friendly at the show. I look forward to attending more and, hopefully, doing better as we go.

We scored a 56.something ... but considering how poorly I did, I am pleased with that. The judge stressed that we need to move FORWARD, but that was totally my fault. I need to work on my nerves. Any tips for that? Perhaps I should get out my yoga mat and meditate before my class, LOL.

1st shows are always let say going into the unkown once done then you find out you faults and can work on always improving

well done you at your very 1st show and now look forwards in improvig a great partnership with your horse

as for any tips haha the toilet comes in handy with neaves so go as often as you before hand haha

always pack and get ready stuff the night before
and give your self plenty of time- never rush always set yourself to be an early bird so you do any last minutes things with in easy time so not rushed and not harassing yourself, this way you will be in a good frame of mind and so will your horse

and lastly - remember trying is the important thing winning is justa bonus of the effort you tried with

so good on you, and your horse enjoy it the step ladder tiny steps make a huge staircase ok

First shows are always nerve racking. I always pack everything the night before and I have a plan. i.e. get to the show, unload, walk around for x min, then groom for x min, etc. Also its nice to always bring a good friend with you. My first show I was incredibly nervous and we hung out and watched the other classes before my division (it was a h/j show) and she made me laugh- I felt so much better to have her there. :)
