Thinking of "Last Call" but that may not be so good if my hunter jogs last http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_rolleyes.gif

Im seriously considering the name "Hangover" what do you think? Any other suggestions?

Would like to stick to an alcohol/bar/drunk theme.

No posters under 19 (canada) or 21 (us) allowed - erm, well, i'll make an exception if you have a good suggestion!

MissCapitalSplash on here has a cute one for one of her horses...Under The Influence. So when announced it sounds as if:
On course is Miss Capital Splash riding Under The Influence. http://chronicleforums.com/images/custom_smilies/winkgrin.gif

That kid cracks me up, LOL!

How about Gin Blossoms? It's the term used for the broken blood vessels found on the nose of alcoholics.
On The Wagon? Off The Wagon? Jim Beam? Jack Daniels? Sotted? Pissed? (drunk in England) Face Down? Farfromdrinkin? (if an import?) FreakinPukin? (another import) Call A Cab? While Intoxicated? (you can be announced riding 'while intoxicated')

Here are some:
Compotation: The act of drinking or tippling together.
Carouser[/B: 1) To engage in boisterous, drunken merrymaking. 2)To drink excessively.
[B]Boisson : French for drink
Adhérents: French for party

Hope that helps a little! I will look for some more later.

I also thought of "Designated Driver". It is great for a hunter, because it gives the impression that all you have to do is get on and the horse does everything else ~~ I.E. he is a total packer.

Many years ago in California a lady had a GREAT ammie horse named Dial-A-Ride. It gave the same impression. You just climb on and the horse gets you to where you want to go.

Please do not label this horse with a Puking type name, unless you hate the horse and never want to sell it. Funny names should only be used as barn names. It is a travesty to, er, "saddle" a horse with a tacky name.

Night Cap is the name of a very famous event horse ridden by Ginny Leng. (mid-80s IIRC). So if you use that one, you should add a numeral afterwards, b/c he isn't the first one, e.g. Night Cap II or Night Cap IV. (that could even be funny, as in intra-venous....)

My junior hunter's name was Cassis (pronounced Cah-sease) which apparently unbeknowst to me at the time is a burgundy liquor.

I'm sure other people have said this- but "Southern Comfort" (aka SoCo). I love that name but I think it's fairly popular.

Also, I used to ride a jumper at my old trainer's named Miller Time. He was sold to a junior, LOL but still shows under his alcoholic name :-)

Anything with dessert liquors seem to be popular...Kaluha, Bailey's Irish Cream, etc. :-)

My new horse's show name is ABSOLUT (a vodka) and his barn name is Stoli (another vodka). He's got a reason behind it but will spare the details. You could name him after a drink or type of alcohol. My brother has a bartender's bible around here somewhere... The only things coming to mind, and someone might have said them already, are Tequila Sunrise and Bicardi Breezer.
Ok some others:
Kamikaze
VK Blue
Skyy

Cassis is a berry. Creme de cassis is the liquor. You can mix it with white wine, champagne, or sweet alcoholic cider to make a kir! (kir, kir royale, and kir bretagne respectively).I love kirs made with creme de cassis, but I haven't been able to find the liquor in the US. I dont even know what a cassis berry is in english...it is about the size of a blueberry, but dark red. What would that be? Anyways, good stuff. My favorite is when it is mixed with the sweet cider that I can't find in the US either http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_frown.gif drool....

Creme de cassis is made from currants. You can find it in some larger/nicer liquor stores here, but it's difficult. And it doesn't have quite the same taste as the product you actually get in France does; here it's a bit more watery. I have a hugeass bottle of it that's far more than I wanted, but it was the only size I could get it in http://chronicleforums.com/images/custom_smilies/lol.gif Though I'm a big fan of the kir royale, I've never had a kir de Bretagne. If I can find cidre here, I'll have to try one!

There are a bunch of good ones here. On the Rocks is good. I didn't catch what breed he is, but for a Danish Warmblood, "Gammel Dansk" would be perfect. It translates as "Old Danish" and is a really revolting bitters. I had to try it when I lived in Denmark, and bought a bottle to ply on unsuspecting American friends!

Have you picked one yet??? These are GREAT names. I love "Designated Driver" - that's perfect for one who jumps! I also like One For The Road.
You may jinx yourself with Bottoms Up over the jumps! http://chronicleforums.com/groupee_common/emoticons/icon_smile.gif

Let us know!

I don't know where the OP is from, but there is already a horse named "One For The Road" that shows in the A/As in SC, NC, VA area.

Ride4thgo -- a horse at our barn gets a similar response -- Who Needs Diamonds. At one show the announcer followed up with: "I sure do, so if anyone has some to spare..." followed by the gate keeper "No -- I need them! Give 'em to me!!" Hehe.

Anyways, my siggestion is:
