My horse is in a paddock with no trees, but my friend's horse is in a paddock with some tall evergreens. in the winter, they help with the snow and rain and the wind. There is also a large shelter in that paddock, and the trees are near it so they really help. The BO won't cut them down they are 20 ft tall or so. Is there anything you can use to wrap the tree so the horses don't get all sap? When they rub against the trees they are a mess. (Other than Wire mesh)Just curious if anyone has used anything with success.

We used old fire hose, when the FD replaced the old hose we took it and wrapped the trees that were a problem.
Other solution is to put a small fence around the trees so the horses cannot get to close to them. You can use temp posts and ele tape with a solar charger if you only need to keep away for part of the year.
