So I am giving up the lease on my barn and moving next month to another barn that I am also leasing. This new barn doesn't have anything in the tack room! I need to supply my own bridle racks, saddle racks, hooks, etc. Since I hope to be finally buying my own farm in a year, I would like to get some nice equipment that I can take with me. Not too terribly expensive, but good quality. What are your favorite online companies? I know there was a thread a while back but I can't find it now. There were some really cool stores listed with unusual stuff!

I got nice brass bridle hooks and horse head hooks from Dover. Plain wooden saddle hooks and blanket racks from local saddlery, stained them mahogany.
Did the same thing with trunks a few years earlier, detailing the edges in a dark stain and the sides in oak.

My tack room looks as "expensive" as a pro's!

Having a handy DH is a good thing. I saw these saddle racks- http://www.equinesystems.com/saddle_rack.html and told DH I wanted some just like it. Mine are mounted to a 2x6 because they don't come apart like those in the picture. Cost less than $100 to build 3 4-post saddle racks- and these suckers are sturdy.

My bridle racks could be prettier- very similar to these http://www.horseloversstore.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&cPath=3&products_id=134&zenid=ac4e7e812a0e0132068a462f4539097a. Made from scrap lumber not nice enough to be stained, mine are painted. Cost was next to nothing.

Most of my crap is hanging on standard brass coat hooks mounted to either a painted piece of scrap wood or a nice stained oak board. Either way they're cheap to make since I can get the hardware either at my local True-Value or even Wal-mart. In my wash rack where I didn't want hooks extending too far, I used robe hooks instead- http://www.letsbuyit.co.uk/product/24982120/other-hardware/single-robe-hook-solid-brass-polished.

I have to "second" ChocoMare about the Organized Barn at www.organizedbarn.com. I have used their equipment extensively, as have my friends, and it allows for awesome organization of tack rooms, trailer dressing rooms, tack stalls at horse shows, etc. The barn where my horse was had used their equipment for their tack room, grooming stalls, and wash racks. I have nothing but rave reviews for them!

I used sstack for my tack room stuff.

However a bit of a tip, if you're going to put up open shelves them get the wire rack shelves instead of solid shelves. They collect a LOT less dust it seems.

You can also find them cheap as heck if you see a store going out of business or even just ask at a store if they have older ones they want to get rid of. They tend to throw out the old coated wire racks when they get new ones.

Enclosed storage like cabinets is also fantastic to have.
