Camped Friday to today at Blackhawk Campground above Payson Canyon on the Uinta National Forest. Most pics from there, 3 or 4 from today's ride from a trailhead on the way down Payson Canyon toward home.

So, update, I can never remember which of these sites gives public links and which don't, so let's give Picasa a shot:

Now, the one it tells me to provide as a link is this one.

Take yer pick, maybe I should just give up and go back to the wilds and camp some more!

Sorry, I'm not going to sign up for Snapfish just to see the photos.

But I know blackhawk has some country this time of year. Glad you had a good trip.

Picasa worked just fine. Lots of blue flowers up there. We rode up past Malad and everything was Yellow flowers on that mountain.

End of June and early July bring out the best of the mountain wild flowers.

Very good looking variety of horses, and great scenery.
Are the blue flowers poison? If so, I guess the horses know what not
to eat, when they have a choice.

You guys seem to carry very little gear. First time I have seen, what
looked like a helmet with a full wide brim; best of both worlds.

Don't know about poison but apparently the flowers are not palatable- but I've always known horses to pick out 'the good stuff' wherever they are!

For a day ride, I typically just have a rain coat, lunch, and water and bug spray and camera.

That hat cover is very nice, I plan to get one like that too- it's a construction hard hat cover.

The blue flowers look like Lupin which, I believe, is poison to horses. Fortunately horses don't find it tasty and won't eat it. Beautiful scenery and horses. I am partial to duns so those horses were extra beautiful to me. Thanks for sharing. :)

Greener than I imagined it would be...I always think of Utah as desert like.
