The following was forwarded to me yesterday:

Budget Cuts in St Johns - Your help is needed to save event for 2011

ST JOHNS EVENT IN JEOPARDY FOR 2011
An imminent and drastic budget cut by the City of St Johns will result in the termination of the Parks and Recreation Staff that run the St Johns Equestrian Center and the St Johns Horse Trials. These proposed cuts are to take place at the start of the fiscal year, July 1, 2010. RESULT: Area X will lose our event at St Johns in 2011.

WE NEED YOUR INPUT AT ONE LAST MEETING ON THURSDAY, JUNE 24 at 6:30pm. THIS IS A MAKE IT OR BREAK IT MEETING FOR THE HORSE TRIALS AT ST JOHNS FOR NEXT YEAR.
Please attend the meeting if you are at the Horse Trials in St Johns. The meeting will be held at 6:30pm at the old High School kitty corner from the Speedy Bee's restaurant on the main street. First floor, Board of Supervisors room. The City Council will be running the meeting and they need to hear the value of Parks and Rec for their community, their economy and the value of the equestrian park for the city of St Johns. Please help if you can, so we do not lose this wonderful venue for horse trials. If you cannot attend, but have some imput, you can email the City Manager, G. Martin at gmartin@sjaz.us. Please tell him what a good job the Parks and Recreation staff do at the event.

Also, we are low on entries for the the St Johns Horse Trials, June 26 and 27. Cross-country start times will be an hour earlier on Sunday, PreComp beginning at 6AM. We want to beat the heat! Come and enjoy improved courses, new water jump and wider tracks with better footing. New fences, too! Please send your entries in ASAP.

Maybe a complet new aproach will be needed and if Area X realy wants this HT it should finally find an Organizer that is worth a damm.
The guys from Parks and recreation are absolut great, without Ross and especialy Tyson, there would have never been any HTs in the last 3 years, but the rest of the organisation sucks, the worst of the worst.
Maybe it needs to fail, as it did several years ago, to wake everybody up again.

It is such a shame for all the efort of the last years to be wasted by those people, disgusting.
