How do you clean your nylon padded trunk covers? Does anyone put them in the washing machine? What about ones with embriodery? TIA!

Put in the washing machine, gentle cycle. Hang outside to dry out of the sun and inside out to prevent further fading - mine are pretty faded already.

Any special detergent recomendations?

Dry cleaners. No risk in shrinking, they turn out great.

Washing machine. The large ones at the laundromat work well. Regular detergent. Sort-of gentle cycle. Put two plastic patio chairs back to back and place cover over them to dry.

Just did two of mine. Threw them in our front load washer, used Woolite, gentle cycle with cold water. Hung to dry in basement. Came out great, with no damage to the embroidery on the fronts or the padded tops.

has anyone washed one of the Clothes Horse padded tack trunk covers?

I have washed Clothes Horse covers! (Tee hee hee). All the instructions above are fabulous. Machine wash, gentle cycle, hang to dry (preferably out of direct sunlight just to be safe). They do dry faster and avoid fading if turned inside out.

Newer covers are made from different fabric that does not fade.
