Today an internationally competitive tent-pegger came to visit the barn and casually offered (if by "casually offered" I mean "was exhorted") to show us how tent pegging (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tent_pegging) is done.

Much to their eternal delight, my two horses were brought in from their field to saddle up and give it a try.

One of them soon decided it was the best time EVER (while the other focused mainly on preserving the last scraps of his dignity).

It was a blast!

Looks like fun! I would love to give it a try, though I think my horse would like it a bit too much, and may never want to go back to silly hunter nonsense again.

I like the horse in the adjoining paddock, watching.
"Dude, WHAT are you doing? Can I try?"

The grey one is the TB.

The chestnut is the embarrassed Oldenburg.
And yes, he has proven to have an Unswerving Dedication to Maintaining Exactly That Canter. He apparently feels that to do otherwise (by say, galloping towards a target, or something crazy like that) would be completely undignified and beneath him.:lol::lol:
