so while watching Rolex last weekend...several of us who are typically outside the loop of knowledge wondered how Ralph and Darren were doing. We missed them!

Does he have any sponsors/horses left? Is he competing anywhere now?

Whoa...well, DC competed at Red Hills, but I know nothing more (and am not sure I want to!).

I had a fantastic lesson with Ralph late winter/early spring of '09, before I got preggers, but not sure what he's been doing since. Would love to hear how and where he is. Maybe Ralph should get his own thread to circumvent the inevitable DC mess??!

I'm seriously thinking a COTH meet-up for the DC trial should happen. Perfect time of year to visit Florida. We can do the theme parks and all that.

Hate to have Ralph and DC in the same thread title- Ralph deserves his own!!

I'm sure we could get enough COTH-folk to book a train car and get a group discount on the Amtrack Auto Train route.

Missed Ralph singing around Rolex...and his fun socks! Someone had some pretty spiffy socks on in the trot up Sat., though. Can't recall who.

I know all about DC and all that, but what did Ralph do? I cliniced with him many moons ago and just LOVED him - such fun. I hope he's okay...can someone enlighten me?

Ralph had a crash several years ago and had a TBI, apparently more due to a blocked airway than actual impact (I think, though I may not have that quite right). At any rate, he was a long time in rehab, and he still has some issues but as far as I know he's back coaching and riding a little. I saw him at Poplar a year or two ago looking a little crooked, but as energetic and cheery as ever.

Oh, I remember that crash. I'm glad to hear that he's back to riding and coaching - he's irrepressible. Since this thread lumped him in with DC, I was scared that there was scandal attached to him, too.

I'm very impressed-no one pulled the pin out the hand grenade. And yet I know many were tempted. Seems like DC is his own worst enemy.

My thoughts exactly!
Not even in the same class!

I agree, Ralph has no place in the same thread as DC! Last I heard he was doing well, doing clinics/lessons and I think maybe working out of the Harbison's Suwannee Farm in FL. I heard that a while ago so it may not be true anymore though!
