I just realized I have a three day weekend coming up...

I would like to start getting El Capitian out and about to see what kind of horse he is on the trails BEFORE our big ride on June 5th.

I know about Dawson Forest...where else can I go and spend a couple of hours? At this point, just short rides to get him accustomed, although I dont imagine to encounter any troubles.

I need to start gradually building his fitness level and expand outside of the ring....

I am in Ellijay/Talking Rock...so anyplace North of the Perimeter would be great...Ill go as far east as Dawsonville, Burford, etc.

Fort Mountain, but it is rocky.

Pigeon Mtn, park at Estelle. Rocky in spots and steep in spots. Some slick rock in spots. Did I mention steep?

LMH...have you done trails at Chattahoocie River Club? I looked at their website but could find much more info than they had a place to park trailers.

One place that may be a little south of you is Garland Mountain in Cherokee county. The trails are nice and so is the trailer parking.

Cohutta WMA is 95,000 acres and is within 15 miles.
