Looking for a friend that has been around horses quite a bit on ranches and whatnot, but just got a job in a fancy horse barn and wants to learn more- ie. understanding complicated horse parts, supplements, feed, and whatnot.

There is a new book on the shelves at BN and Borders every month, I swear. Tell him/her to just go and browse until s/he finds what s/he needs. And a book can be toted to the barn and perused during breaks.

Horses for Dummies is a really good book, but don't know if it included supplements and stuff like that.

I really like my copy of Horse Anatomy: A Coloring Atlas.

How in depth of a book are you looking for? The Merck Vet Manual is always good to have on hand, whether in print or online.
