As a dressage newbie,I was wondering if rubber reins are allowed.I saw a beautiful pair at the tack store...advertised as dressage reins.I always thought they weren't legal.

Rubber coated leather (or nylon) are allowed. What isn't allowed (as far as I know) are ones that have an elastic/rubber core (so the rein itself stretches).

Those are the best reins. I have a 17 hand horse though and I bought the XL reins and they are too long. I barely used them so if you would like them let me know. I replaced them with ones that were regular length.
