should i take it to my tack shop (beval)? Call them on the phone and ask if they do repairs on sheets. They may refer you to some place that cleans blankets and sheets instead.

Depends on how pretty you want it to look.
Horse at my barn removed the surcingle and it vanished. I made one out of webbing and purchased metal pieces and attached it using my speedy stitcher. The result was just fine for a horse living outside in a muddy paddock but wasn't exactly A-show worthy.
Many places that clean blankets will also repair them as the above poster suggested.

If you want to attach it yourself, use a large needle or a carpt needle and get yourself a reel/spool of fishing line. I use 10 lb test line. Sew back on with the fishing line and carpet needle...holds just as well as new. Fishing line can get wet or muddy and not rot or loosen like thread.

I just use the webbing from my old blankets and sew it on. Agree with Misty that fishing line works, but I prefer dental floss as thread. If you don't want to sew it and it's clean, depending on what's available in your area, tack repair shops will do it, cobblers, tailors, or anyone who fixes or sews things.
