View Full Version : Spinoff: How do I clean sheepskin boots?

I just bought used open front sheepskin boots at a consignment sale. The sheepskin is NOT detachable. There is leather on the outside. Handwash somehow?

I've handwashed mine to get the grit out of the sheepskin with luke warm water (nicer for my hands than cold water) and a some mild ivory soap. A small quirt on the sheepskin works into a nice lather to get all of the stuff out. Just make sure they get rinsed REALLY well. Let them air dry away from heat and sunlight. You can use a stiff brush to lightly fluff the sheepskin back to it's former glory, and condition the leather part of the boots well.
