I'm horse shopping for a yearling pinto saddlebred/draft cross...I've found a few private breeders' websites, but would love some additional leads. Does anyone know of other breeders out there with 2009 fillies/colts for sale?? Thanks in advance!!

Don't know if they have anything that age for sale right now, but if you haven't been to www.flyingwfarms.com you should.

They have one filly for sale (who looks absolutely amazing), but they're asking a bit too much for a not quite one-year-old. I have a hard time justifying paying more for a yearling than a broke and going four-year-old! But if I had deeper pockets, she'd already be in the trailer! ;-)

It says 6K or Best Offer. So make them an offer!

Take a look at Flying W's records... Her price is well justified... (unfortunately, cause i think she's adorable too but couldnt afford her if i wanted to!) They have been producing really nice GG for many years now and most of them are out there showing and proving themselves in one way or another. They really know how to produce a nice one. I had a mare sired by one of their old saddlebred stallions who was super nice.

Are you talking about Countessa on their website? She is one of the nicer movers they've had--but gawd her neck is SO short! Looks like someone slapped a welsh pony's head/neck on a horse's body...sorry, maybe it will improve as she grows, but I do like her movement.

Some of those horses have way too much knee action and not enough forward reach, and hind legs move out behind too much, just watch for that in your search. But I have seen some really nice Georgian Grandes too!

Not sure where you are located but I have a friend that is breeding Georgian Grandes............Freisan/Saddlebred crosses....They are not colored though.....mostly bays.

She has produced some incredible foals these last few years.....she has a colt from 2009 that she still has mainly because she has not advertised.... She is not having any trouble getting between $5000.00 and $10,000.00 for them

I bought a black and white pinto filly as a two year old that I was told was a percheron cross. As she matured we really began to assume her other part was Saddlebred. Really nice mare she became, nice mover, unbeatable temperment. She was about 16 hands when I bought her and about 17.1 when I sold her. She went on to be a dressage/vaulting horse and is very adored in her new home. I can certainly see why someone would be searching one out. She always kind of reminded me of a Fresian as well so I wouldn't be afrain to look into a cross of that either! Good luck.

BTW I found mine in a dealers yard surrounded by trail and cutting horses. I went to look at a babysitter children's pony and came home with her

Nancy Crosscut of Crosswinds Stables in Corry, PA is breeding some really nice Saddlebred Perch cross, Georgian Grandes. I've just put a deposit on Wurlitzer Prize. She has several available and the video footage shows them to be very nice movers with suspension. Here is a link to her ads on horseclicks: http://www.horseclicks.com/horses/seller14532/

I just passed on a very nice young Trakehner mare a friend of mine bred and raised as she was turning out to be too complicated for what I'm after. I want big and fun and willing and everything I've read about this cross says they are with expressive movement to boot. Nancy's stallion is the Palomino and white, pinto Saddlebred, Spot of Gold who she has been putting to some very nice Percheron mares. The palomino filly, Ruby's Gold is impressive and out of a really nice Belgian mare who appears to be a Silver Bay in color which is unusual and different if you like good horses of a different color.
