Through a series of miscommunications, turns out my horse hasn't been dewormed since September. BO thought I did it, I thought she did it--we both screwed up.
Good news is horse is fine, but clearly, we need to get back with the program. We're near St. Louis, if that info helps, but what would you do at this point?
Thanks!

Get a fecal and go from there. But really, I would not freak. September is not that long and some people only deworm a couple of times per year anyway.

A fecal won't hurt, but you could, considering that it's winter, and cold out there, just go ahead and deworm with either of the "mectins".

I only worm every 6 months......once in the spring and once in the fall..........it really depends on your horse set up and your management practices along with your horses resistance level.

I think the last time I wormed was Nov. I think 4x a year is about right for my horses. I use pyrantel, equimax, and anthelmicide eq.
Talk to your vet about it if you're worried.

I deworm 3x a year, Spring with Qwest.
Fall after the 1st frost with Ivermectin
January with something from the pyrantel family of products.
But my horses are on my property and I never bring outside horses in.
