I saw him while browsing sale sites. Sire is palomino, dam is grey. Is it just a funky shedding stage? Is he likely to stay darker?
Looks like a sooty palomino? (Is that even a colour? I'm not sure. Both of mine are bay!)
Thanks!

Palomino. Probably going grey but probably won't know for a shedding cycle (or without more close-up photos anyway).

Foaled palomino, turning grey.
I've had two that color, and it is a pretty ugly color for a while. It gets worse from the color he is in those pictures, to the point where they just look filthy -- even when they are not.

Thanks! :) What caused the darker colour on his legs/belly? Just baby fluff?
(And I want a pony now. A roan or dun pony.)

For example this horse started out chestnut http://www.sandstonecreekfarm.com/Rivkahtrot_op_640x434.jpg

I'm not sure what causes it, but it always seems to happen! The filly I just sold that was born the most lovely palomino got super dark chocolate/mud colored points.

I'm really into ponies at the moment. Going to see a little chestnut welshie in the morning, matter of fact. ;)

Well ponies are like potatoe chips, you can't have just one!!
Do be careful now-- they are EASY to accumulate quickly!

Yeah, everyone I know with welshies has at least two. :D Maybe I should buy a matched pair and let my OH take up driving...
