Hmmmm, well, that's a very open-ended question. Can you give more information?

There's a sticky at the top of this forum on horse care tips - that might get you started :)

The best I know how. :)

I read voraciously, have had some very good mentors, have taken care of a lot of horses in different settings, and I try to combine the elements of good fundamental knowledge, experience, and a desire to keep their environment and life as natural as possible within reason. Add a modest dose of conventional wisdom (much of which, frankly, is extremely questionable!) and pay attention so you know what isn't working.

It isn't rocket science, it isn't magic, but it isn't like falling off a log, either. Any library or bookstore is loaded with books on horse care that start at the most basic level on up. And a trusted expert to call on as needed never hurts.

And finally, beware of advice from a public bulletin board (mine included) because it's often sprinkled with editorial bias, dogma, personal peeves and agendas. :D :D :D

Buy yourself a really good horsecare book. Subscribe to magazines. Work or volunteer in a barn or rescue. And, most importantly, don't buy a horse until you know how to care for it. They're not big dogs!

The the pony club D manual and read all the horse care sections. It covers all the basics.
