Anyone here use them? Opinions and experiences sought. :) They are VERY heavily insulated and don't seem to come in lighter weights.

I have one, but I've only used it once.

I bought 3 tough 1's at the same time, one waterproof 1680 heavyweight and 2 light waterproof breathables (the camo ones). I love the way they fit!!! Construction wasn't bad for the money either.

BUT, none of them kept their waterproofing more than 24 hours. :( my horses were dry and warm on day 1 in the light sheets, and soaked to the bone the next.

I used the 1680 one time, within 24 hours my horse was soaked over his loins (loins only, warm and dry everywhere else), and he tore a huge hole in the side.

I ended up returning the two sheets and kept the heavy as a warm jacket only, just because I loved the fit. Both my horses get a little uncomfortable where their oricans hang on their necks, just above the wither, but the Tough1's are contoured ever so nicely, their manes weren't messed up or anything.

Other than having to sew a leg strap back on, I love mine. Great construction and fit. The neck is really nicely contoured. I find most blankets are too large around the neckhole for my TB-type Paint and the Tough 1 fits perfectly a little higher than most. The D rings for hoods are farther back too so they overlap nicely.
