I'm looking on behalf of a client for suggestions for a place to board a weanling warmblood filly somewhere near northern Delaware (Newark/Wilmington) or Southern Chester county PA (Landenburg) etc. She would like her to be able to go out with another youngster, have good turnout/pasture, and be able to have access to her for regular visits. Any suggestions? I was wondering if there are any COTH breeders in that area with room for another baby?

My mare foaled out at Rigbie Farm in Darlington, MD, and the colt is staying there for a while. He's with 3 or 4 (has varied) other weanling (now yearling) colts, and they have another pasture of fillies. Other pastures have yearlings (now 2's, I guess), also sexed, I believe. Wonderful socialization, daily hands on.

I have the highest compliments for the care Sharon and Liz give to all the horses there.

We have several youngsters at Hilltop Farm and will be sending 2 more fillies down over the next month. They live out in groups with daily feeding, have excellent barns to go into and are handled and worked with on a regular basis.

I second Rigbie Farm!

I have had two mares do their CEM quarantine there and can't say enough great things about the farm and the way it is run. Liz and Sharon are totally hands on...stalls are huge and horses are bedded to their knees is straw. Beautiful rolling fields with large turnout sheds.

I agree with Hilltop, but I don't know if they are taking anymore colts...last I knew my boy was one of the last ones accepted. But I could be wrong, I would def ask. They take great care of the youngsters and handle them daily. My boys love being pasture bums:yes:! Big field and tons of time to play!

My mares did their CEM there as well and they are awesome.

I would also recommend Hilltop if they have room, but they might be pricey.
