An important reminder: whatever your views on the underlying issue, we are all bound by state and federal laws re: medical confidentiality. Some conditions have even greater protection. To violate these laws on this forum or elsewhere, including conversations with your friends, may subject you to personal liability. And your postings may already have subjected the Chronicle to liability! Good work people!!!

You're only bound by HIPAA if you're a healthcare or insurance provider.
Not if you're just someone who knows something.
