Anyone have a recommendation for combined home and farm insurance? We do a little boarding and have a small lesson program, we're small!!

Thanks!

(The company we've been using has gone waaaayyy up!)

I imagine that you'd need Care, Custody and Control for the boarded horses and equine commercial liability for the lesson program. I just purchased a 1,000,000 commercial liability from EMO for $500. I've always found them very easy to deal with as I've insured horses for mortality and surgical as well CCC and liability in the past.

BTW, I did call 2 other equine insurance co. and they wanted $695 and $700 respectfully for the same coverage.

We've been very pleased with our Farm Bureau insurance - we have combined home/farm/auto coverage. We meet with our agent once a year, and last year our rates slightly decreased.

I have farm/home insurance through a co-op in WA state which wouldn't do you any good but important tip my agent gave me: pictures/video and lists of everything you own. It takes awhile but I had an inventory list from when I moved which helped a lot. Measurements of barn, outbuildings, material used to construct, tack, trailer, cars, fencing, and receipts if you have them, etc, etc. My agent has copies, copies in my safe deposit box and my kids each have a copy.

It's through Rain and Hail. They do crop insurance too ;-) I have a commercial policy and instructors insurance as part of my package.
