Here's the place to post your pictures and announcements of this year's new additions!

We'll merge individual threads into this one if they crop up so that everything's together for easy viewing and the rest of the forum isn't inundated with individual announcements.

If you'd like to list them separately, here's a thread for 2010 Pony Foal Announcements (http://www.chronofhorse.com/forum/showthread.php?p=4630741).

Congratulations COTHers!

My Donnerhall mare, Donnabelle, gave us a gorgeous, tall, very energetic Quaterback filly at 12:48 AM. She is chestnut with chrome like her sire. A definite keeper!

Thank goodness for Breeder Alert!! We JUST got their newest system and put the tranmitter on her halter yesterday. It works VERY well, I would have missed the arrival without it. The system woke me out of a dead sleep and I got to the barn about 5 minutes before she was born.

Donnabelle was not due for another week and was bagged up, but not waxing at all. We just had time to bed the stall with straw and get the towels, baby blanket, etc. All of that had been on the schedule for today when she was scheduled to begin 24/7 observation!!

EM Diva gave us a beautiful Romanov filly this afternoon. She looks like a clone of last year's Romanov that is owned by Prosperity Farm. I am so happy and so relieved that all went well. Pics as soon as she is unfolded. Her name will be Romanesque.

Well after two years of trying, Maven FINALLY delivered a healthy colt on Thursday evening at 9:20. What's so funny is he's all chestnut with white- truly the opposite of mama. We named him Charlie in the barn after our dear friend Charlie Weaver who was in an accident recently. All I really have is a great video. Hope you enjoy. More pics to post once I figure out how to move them around!

we have our first foal of 2010! He arrived safetly text book birth by a maiden mare - such a clever girl had everything under control done and dusted by half past midnight - a lovely strong colt by the fabulous Statesman, bred by Anne Kitchel - he is a real poppet super temperament and movement to die for, big and uphill with a really good ground covering walk we are thrilled to bits. Photos will be posted shortly on this link http://www.tantoni.co.uk/fortunie.php . Baby number two is due on 24th by Stedinger (sire of Statesman) so it will be fascinating to see the two together.

I love all the new babies. Good job everyone.

Now I introduce AVA by Blue Who and out of Glenmore Trudy (Aka Maybelline) by Glenmore Liberty Bell. Trudy is a small large. "Hootie" is 11.2.
She was born March 4th.

This filly is huge, but then Trudy had a huge one by Helicon Sir Lancelot for her first foal. I am sure she will be gray. We are quite proud of her, as is her owner Stacie Yellin who has owned Trudy since a three year. She started her and showed her, and now she is retired. I am just leasing her this year. Good for me:yes:

Well, my friend that breeds appaloosa's has had an interesting start to the year... I won't go back into the first foal, since it has it's own thread, but his 2nd and 3rd mares foaled. Third was a full QH, lovely palomino filly, easy birth, great mother, yadda yadda... 2nd was another appy. They pinched a twin on her last year as she aborted triplets (yes triplets!) the year before. They checked and re-checked and checked a 3rd and 4th time for any more embryos. She went into labor, popped out a very pretty chestnut colt, no white, no spots. (curses!). Then laid back down and popped out a buckskin (?) colt with a blaze, socks and a blanket. He is TINY. And alive and well and living in my friend's living room. He is so small he can't reach the milk bar. They did milk the mare so he got colostrum, his IGG came back great, and he's loving his Foal-Lac. I am in LOFF! Will kill you all with the cuteness here (http://www.facebook.com/album.php?aid=164132&id=511691712&l=65d1bd1c0e)!

The little Appy twin is doing well. He is almost housebroken now LOL!! He wakes up and goes to the door to go out - how cute is that??? Big worry right now is that he is getting bowlegged. The vet was coming out the day after I left, and I have no idea what was said - I'll ask tonight. I'll also see if I can't get my friend to take some new photos... The other colt is doing just fine as well. I kinda feel bad for him because he is so on the back burner... But I guess it'll get made up to him sooner or later, right?

(Now) SPS Flaminia by Florencio - Prince Thatch had her first foal this night.
It is a very correct black colt by Benetton Dream. Two white socks on the hindlegs, very nice marking in the face. We will see how he moves tomorrow, today only a short trip outside while my other mare Suaheli moved into the "survey" stall.
Thanks to Kareen for her good care and help.
A very first picture can be seen on Kareen's Facebook site germanhorseconnection.com

Update on the appy twin!

He's growing way too fast, which is causing the legs to bow. His right leg is bandaged for support (that's the bad one). He's having to have his milk watered down, but gets to eat as often as he wants. I'm headed back down there on Tuesday, so will get new pictures then!

She was born in a stud farm near Paris. The breeder is an eventing rider."

What a foaling season so far! A foal in the house and one being born on St Paddy's day! I love seeing them all!

Metro out of Noble Nellie (Noble Champion) and by Mezcalero was born early 3/21. It was a nail biter of a day that ended in a redbag, but both are doing great! This is Nellie's first foal and she is the perfect mom.

Our "midwife" who is the wife of our vet told us that because of the unusually cold weather, that all of the mares that she has foaled out this year have been at least a week late, if not two. Our first foal was due the March 2nd and was exactly one week late born March 9th.

I have 2-3 years from now to worry, but he will be presented in the states if that is what you are asking. He would be nice to get approved Holsteiner too.

Actually I was asking which registry you will be using for his approval and licensing. The bloodlines are rare here in the States as you know and he appears to be a lovely colt.

Thanks~ I will start with KWPN-NA since that is what he will be registered with and then next I would say AHHA, then maybe OLD, CS, and RPSI so that other breeders can use him, but it will be approved mares only of course.

I haven't had time, but I cannot wait to add some pictures I have of him off of video, WOW WOW WOW!

Thank you! I cannot wait to get better pictures and video. Things have been so busy that I haven't had time, but hopefully it will be soon. The dam is registered KWPN, she is from Holland and she is PROK. I will present her to KWPN-NA this year for her Star Predicate and go from there. She is a 10 jumper and a 9 mover IMO. She can really move. The colt is going to have a "dream" canter. He canters all day long it seems, lol but it is very uphill, collected, and balanced. I have seen him jump some dirt piles and that was impressive too. I hope by the time he is ready I have the money to do what I need to do with this one, fingers crossed.

He also has a full brother that looks very similar but has a full blaze. He was sold to France at one day old and was exported to France at 6 months old. It will be interesting to see how he matures, his name is Eberlin. I was really happy to import this blood to the USA for the jumper breeders.

Here are a few photos of our 3 week old filly by our Connemara stallion Tre Awain Goldsmith, out of a lovely Thoroughbred-cross mare:

http://cadyodalyfarm.net/foals_4.html - Tinker Toy!

Who knows where she got all that white from... our stallion (who's a dun - two back socks) tends to throw quite a bit. Mama is a plain chestnut, with tiny star, itty bitty sock or two.

I'm still anxiously awaiting my purebred Connemara to foal - she's at day 351.

My wonderful mare Folly (Ima Scribbles) had a sorrel filly just after midnight (April 20 a.m.). Irregular white leg markings and a big blaze -- a "Paint that ain't" sigh. Folly's babies are beautiful and strong and friendly but I don't have much luck with the pinto coloring. It's a testament to the quality of the foals that I am happy to keep having the solids! And after three boys in a row from her, it's so much fun to have a little girl.

Here she is at about 12 hours old, right after her "well baby" check-up which apparently tuckered her out.
Baby Album (http://pets.webshots.com/album/577398721zVUpAA)

I'm trying out "Frolic" as a barn name. No idea of a registered name -- since she is solid colored, perhaps "No Scribbles On Me"? "Scribbles Inside"? "Sans Scribbles"?

I welcomed two in a row last weekend - just now getting caught up to post pictures. Caledonia FCF (Albarez/Contender) was born at 1am on 4/18 and Legato FCF (L. King Arthur/Cacique) followed shortly thereafter at 5am on 4/19!

Pictures at http://fridayschildfarm.com/Legato.htm and http://fridayschildfarm.com/Caledonia.htm - I have lots of white to keep clean, that's for sure!

Here are some pictures of "Redecorated" taken outside today. I see what Jill means about her having a simply GORGEOUS head combined with a beautiful neck and shoulder! And legs that go on forever too ...

She is by Redwine out of my homebred Faux Finish mare (by my stallion Guaranteed Gold) and we believe she is the first dilute Redwine foal out there ... :)

So what do you think based on these pictures? Smoky brown or buckskin based on these outside shots???

EquineLVR- Mistletoe is FANTASTIC!!! I love her. Every visit I take to Jill's I go see her. She is such a super mare. Mistletoe is very much like the dam of this foal so maybe you are getting s sneak peak. One day I will get Jill to swap big grey Holsteiner mares and I will get my Mistletoe foal too!! ;)

Donna - Have been dying to see photos of FF's Redwine filly. She is beautiful!! I vote Buckskin (but I'm no expert ). Whatever color she is, she is lovely.

And I love your Romantic Star colt Dressage-ryder! The star on the inside of his upper lip is too adorable!

Everyone's foals are so cute -- and I can't believe all the BLING this year. Good job everyone.

She looks to be the exact same color as mom, and they're usually a little darker then final color at birth, so I'm going with buckskin too. You can definately see the darker legs and mane/tail compared to body. Seal brown foals look like they are chocolately all over (in the non-dilute state) I had one myself that was DNA confirmed (not a dilute one, lol) but they tend to be all one color instead of contrasting body/legs. Either was she's adorable, and glad you're so happy with her.

I think your filly is buckskin but her adult coat will be a darker, more golden colour than FF's buttermilk buckskin.

Everyone here has bred such nice foals this year, all I can do is drool over here in NZ.

"Twilight's Dawn" arrived at 12:30 this morning with as smooth a delivery as possible from a mare who insisted on standing through the whole thing. :D Mommy has been a wonderful mother (this is her 4th foal, she is experienced) and I couldn't be more pleased with both of them.

Here is his pedigree http://www.pedigreequery.com/twilights+dawn The little guy still needs a barn name - I welcome any and all suggestions. :) I can't quite figure out what shape his star resembles - maybe a ladies fan?

Here is sire Suave's page in the stallion register (http://www.bloodhorse.com/stallion-register/sr_sire_page.asp?refno=6249431&origin=singlesearch&StallionName=suave&SRYear=2010).

Of course once we had some daylight today I snapped way too many pics. This is my favorite - http://pets.webshots.com/photo/2918565820103309036uzfQCG

Sniplover- Yes! He does and it's too freaking cute. He is really out going and he loves to make faces. Nothing like a colt coming walking over with a lip up showing off his " heart". He will be VERY hard to let go. His personality is as awesome as his marking. We will repeat the cross next year!

Thanks SSFL! She is most definitely black! If you want I can send you an email with a whole bunch of 'are they black or are they grey' baby photos from over the years.

Here is the little one out today with her mum (who is black). Waldaire is chestnut fwiw with nearly identical white leg markings - down to the ermine spots and large dot mid cannon on the LH...pretty fun to see it with a different wrapper! :)

First foal of 2010 for Golden Edge Sporthorses, born April 3rd, she is a FANCY bay tobiano pinto Oldenburg X Hanoverian filly, by Sempatico out of a MMB "G" line Hanoverian mare. "Sweet Sixteen" is a gorgeous mover. I can't believe her huge, floaty trot at just two weeks old that screams Dressage. I love her correct conformation and her one of a kind loud pinto pattern! She has a LOT of leg, and we think she will mature at about 16.1.

"Special Effects" is a bay pinto warmblood colt, born 4/20/10. By Sempatico out of a MMB Holsteiner mare who had a successful jumping career, he should be doubly blessed with both dressage and jumping genes! This boy could be a keeper! We estimate he will be 16.2h at maturity. This is another one we can't wait for him to unfold to see who he really is.

Born April 20th, "Smoke Screen" is a fancy, leggy and tall buckskin colt, by the imported German/Czech warmblood, RPSI stallion, Sagar, out of one of our all time favorite mares, Lady Diplomat. Lady is an appendix AQHA (mostly TB) and while we do not generally cross breed the AQHA influence in our warmblood program, Lady always produces fabulous foals that are highly influenced by her TB side and we are always proud of her offspring! This colt is by far one of her fanciest. He has correct conformation and eye catching golden buckskin coat! "Smokey" is a fantastic example of careful cross breeding, and is sure to be a success in whichever direction he goes! He is expected to mature at least 16h. I can't wait to see how he unfolds so we can see what he really looks like and can see his movement!

Here is Florence (I think) by Indoctro out of Pacific Dawn (Pacific Sunset/Polydor). She was born Thursday night, right on time at about 9:30 p.m. She's cantering in her stall and can't wait until the rain stops to get out!

I can't believe she is black-she is black isn't she? (no grey parents here)!

I just wanted to thank COTH for input into breeding/foaling/raising/training her and her full brother who I just put the first rides on this spring at 3. Thanks for all the input over the years-it's great to have such knowledge at a moment's notice.

We just had to put down my sister's 19 yr old this am, so I'm distracting myself with my baby.

Thanks again and congrats to everyone.
