On "Sporthorse Central" there is a blog started for anyone having questions regarding the 30 and 70 day stallion testing. You may direct questions to the stallion testing director himself....Harald Hoffman. He is in Germany currently and would be glad to offer assistance if needed. You may find this useful as a reference. I just wanted to bring it to your attention.

Love the answer re training, and that doesn't surprise me at all. As someone who backs young horses for people, I had to implement a policy a long time ago that I wouldn't touch a horse with at the least good ground basics (aka lead respectfully, stand good for hooves to be picked, etc.). It seemed like 70% - or more - of the time the horses would be almost feral. One would THINK if you are investing the kind of money to send a horse to stallion test, you would do your PRE-test work as well, but sounds like a lot of people send rank-greenies to the testing as their training. I wonder if much of that has to do with sending 3 y/o's. Or if the age were increased people would just wait longer to start and send them in the same condition (or rather with a lack of condition).

I would love it if people would please take this very good opportunity to direct comments and remarks, and questions to the director of the stallion test and help generate more discussion on the blog, as a guide for those interested in the process but who lack first hand experience.
I heard some interesting stories over dinner about stallions from previous testings. I believe education is the right way to a better process. Do drop by and have your questions answered.
