View Full Version : WEF tails (and manes)

Anyone there (or scoping pics of there) that has noticed any trends in tails? I mean as far as, still lots of pinwheels? Or loops? Wrap arounds? Etc.

I don't expect manes to be anything other than classic but what the heck, anyone see anything out of the ordinary??

I watched the Holiday shows at Littlewood a few weeks ago and there were lots of pinwheels. However, the turnout was fairly small. I don't think the judge cares as long as the braids are well done!

I think you are seeing more "wrap-arounds" because of the increase in the use of fake tails. My braider finishes fake tails this way, although I don't know why. I'm sure there's a reason for it.

The gal who does my tail braids uses snails on mares and wrap arounds on geldings. Don't know why but that's her thing...

Here is a photo of how they are doing our horse's tail at WEF. Hope that helps!

Hope the OP doesn't mind me asking a related q, but does anyone know what the "going rate" for braiders at WEF is?

We pay $75 for mane & tail. :D

That is what we are paying, too.

Thanks! And no, I don't mind questions on prices a bit.
