I usually get an email with a coupon code from discountpetdrugs.com but haven't gotten one lately. Does anyone have a coupon code or know of where the best price is right now? I'm used to paying $30 per tube with no shipping. Thanks!

One ebay seller has it for 27.50 a tube for the 10 pack.

I would not use discountpet. I have been trying to reach them by phone since monday am. I also put an order in, and they have not processed it. Very uncomfortable with doing business with them.

I finally ordered from HorseHealthUSA for 31.99.

However, I just spoke to prescription specialities in CT who can compound it for 12 bucks a day. It is omniprazole, and he said it was the ph in the product that made it resistant to the stomach acids that gastro/ulcergard claim to have propriety over.
Anyone have any comments about that? Sure would help my pocketbook.

thanks llc, I think the auction has ended though?

fivehorses-my horse has been on a full tube since August (long story) and I've been ordering from discountpetdrugs the whole time without an issue. The only real complaint I have is that the copoun codes used to include priority shipping where now its just regular shipping. Who knows, maybe they're having an issue.

There's been a lot of discussion on this bulletin board about the compounded, you will find a lot of info on it if you do a search. Basically, it's not just the ph in the ulcer/gastrogard that makes it work, it's also the buffering agent. The general consensus is that it doesn't work/doesn't work as well as the real stuff. I've asked a number of vets at research hospitals about it and they recommended against it. My regular vet uses it for maintenance with one of her horses, however, and uses the real stuff for stressful situations and that has worked for her.

I got my last order from Entirelypets.com. I think I got a 6 pack, but it was around $31.5 per tube.

Have prices gone up? I seem to remember getting gastro/ulcergard for $30 last summer.

Forgot to mention, I went to a Merial scoping event and got a bunch of rebate coupons there (plus a free scoping, even though the vet was awful). I got $5 a tube and just got my checks in the mail. I know that expired at the end of 2009 though, so I'm not sure if Merial is offering any deals this year.

This is the website I use and haven't had any problems with. They usually have the cheapest price.

No that actually is not the secret to gastroguard's success. The omeprazole itself is basically in tiny little capsules just like the human medicine only much smaller. The capsules protect it from the stomach acid allowing it to make its way into the intestines where it is then absorbed into the blood stream.
