I am fully aware this has been hashed out many many times, but I am looking to the board for an good upto date answer.

I asked a friend if she would like to show my personal 2 horses @ a "AA" show this spring. In open not amature restricted classes. The friend is 20 and has hopes to eventually be a Professional.

They are not for sale, will not be advertised for sale not publically or privately.

There will be no financial transaction or gifting. I will not be paying for any hotel rooms or travel expenses.
They will be there showing their own horses.

They will also not be schooling the horses off show grounds prior to show we live many 100's miles away.

Does this affect the amature status???

I bow to you opinions.

The only conflict I see is if she is showing her own horse in the a/o's she will not be able to show another horse owned by someone else.

My horses would be on open classes not A/O classes.

And not in any class her horses will compete in.They are all jumpers.

I have 1 yooung hunter possibly 1 baby schooling jumper.

I know she isn't showing your horse in a a/o class because she can't, but if she is showing a horse of her own in an a/o hunters or jumpers she can't show another horse outside of her ownership.

a. An amateur who competes for a person outside of his/her family may not compete in
a class restricted to Amateur Owners at the same competition. Exception: equitation
and under saddle per HU107.2. BOD 1/18/09 Effective 12/1/09 EC 4/20/09 Effective 12/1/09
EC 8/17/09 Effective 12/1/09
