Sweeney Shoulder Stories?

My coming three year old (in April) somehow hurt himself last year, and after long months of stall rest, then three months of "swim camp", he's back home and turned out.

He seems to have sweeney shoulder (no muscling over his shoulder), but it doesn't seem to inhibit his ability to walk, trot, canter, gallop, or buck like a mad horse.

Has anyone had a horse with Sweeney shoulder who went back to a productive life??

Was your horse laid up for a shoulder injury or for something else?

He either ran into something or got caught in something (I found him in our 10 acre pasture with a HUGELY swollen shoulder). The vet said it looked like he tore every muscle in his shoulder. We xray'ed it, and it was only muscle damage (and likely some nerve).
