A few years ago, I got this jacket at a consignment sale. It doesn't fit so well anymore, and I'm hoping to eventually re-home it at a local tack sale, or perhaps online (NOT here, not now-- please don't post about buying if you happen to be interested... I don't intend to sell it here, just to find out a little more about it). ;)

Anyway, I was wondering if anyone knows what brand it is. It's a dark navy pinstripe jacket, double vented, has 2 pockets (pocket flap shown in photos can tuck in), and three "swirly blue-grey" buttons on the front and three on each sleeve. The tag simple says "Classic" and has a jumper, as well as "Made in Canada". Another tag says "Pure Virgin Wool" and, again, "Made in Canada" and another gives the size and a few numbers. Any ideas? I haven't been able to find this brand online, except for one old ad for a similar sounding jacket here: http://www.trademe.co.nz/nz/auction-110774832.htm (please note, the jacket at the link is NOT mine and I am NOT trying to sell it).

Here are some pics to help:

I would guess Grand Prix. Anyone else?

Was going to agree but went and looked at the label on mine and no such luck. That is not a GP or GP Elite (their less expensive line) label. Plus the made in Canada tag on the inside of the top collar is also in French on mine, OPs it is not, just English despite being in French on the main label. Kind of weird.

It is possible it is a second and had the brand name removed before being offered at an off price outlet. Quite a few manufacturers do that.

Anybody else?

Didn't look at the photos except the one with the label, but I can tell you this about the brand. I bought one of the Classic hacking jackets years ago, probably the mid-to-late nineties. Was a higher-end brand at the time, cost me a pretty penny at a fancy tack shop. I'm guessing similar quality now in the hacking jacket would run $475 and up. Hope that helped.

We have several of them in our shop. I believe Classic was made by Grand Prix as a private label. That is definitely an older style jacket, just by the fabric.

This is not a Grand Prix or Elite coat. Classic was another Canadian company that went out of business about 5 years ago. They made a nice quality jacket and were mostly known for their foxhunting line. Pinstripes were hot a number of years ago but have been out of fashion for a while so it may be challenging to sell at now. Good luck!
