View Full Version : Used close contact saddles-where?
Jan. 8, 2010, 05:50 PM
I am currently leasing at my barn, and the only saddle provided is an all purpose Wintec. Wintecs really are not preferable for me, especially to show in. So I thought I would buy a used saddle. What are some good websites or places to look? I have no idea. It is a long term lease/lease to buy situation so I dont think I would be wasting my money by investing in a saddle.

I have gotten used saddles here... and had very good experiences with them. They always seem to have a nice selection...

I just bought one from http://used.cwdsellier.com/saddle/. Amandine is awesome (and, apparently, alliterative).

Also, don't discount craiglist. In the past three weeks I have seen two close contact crosbys for sale. And I'm on the west coast, not in a hugely horsie area.

I have bought used saddles from usedsaddles.com and Trumbull Mountain. Both very positive experiences.
Other ones I have window shopped at: Rick's Heritage, M&M Tack Shop, Bucks County, Ebay, Tacktrader.com.
