A close friend just emailed me the wonderful news! Judy Yancey of Yancey Farms has semen from the APPROVED Gelderlander stallion, Alexandro P, instock! Judy says, "The quality is exellent and the price is $750 per dose.".

Not yet listed under the regular roster yet, this information plus a picture can be found at www.yancey-farms.com under "Judy's News" http://yancey-farms.com/horse.htm .

"Alexandro P - an exciting alternative for Dutch breeders!
Along with our shipment of semen of AMPERE, FRENCH KISS and JAZZ will be a new face - the happy and big moving Gelders stallion ALEXANDRO P!
To quote our eloquent Dutch breeder friend, Scot Tolman:
"Here's a super star for you. Not only was he the highest scoring Gelderlander in the history of the KPWN as a three year old, but this guy, as a coming four year old, has the self carriage and balance of a much older horse. He has an absolutely beautiful front--he lifts into the air as he moves. He may be Gelders in pedigree and type, but he's all dressage horse as far as I'm concerned."
Here is video of his first foal crop's evaluations. They were very well received by the jury and Alexandro P promises to be a most interesting and exciting producer!

The semen has already proven fertility and will be reasonably priced at $750 per dose.

Thank you Judy Yancey for making this semen available to North American Dutch breeders!

How many doses for a pregnancy?

Registration possibilities?

for kwpn registration possibilities would be the same as using an approved riding book stallion, except if the resulting foal has a high enough % gelders blood you could go gelders book

What percentage Gelders mare would result in a Gelders book foal with Alexandro P? I have a mare that I believe is 62% Gelderlander. Been awhile since I did the math on her, but that's pretty close.

For the Gelders book you need 87.5% for foalbook papers and 75% for register A papers (93.75% Gelders for foalbook if the improvement blood is Hackney or Saddlebred). So if the stallion is 100% Gelders the mare would need to be at least 75% Gelders to get foalbook papers.

Lol. On any other forum, someone yelling "Female name has male name semen in stock" would be considered risque, or even porn.

Only on COTH can a bunch of ladies (and gentlemen!) get excited about having semen in stock lol.

I'm excited to hear this news :)

Yeah, on any other forum, that would leave people thinking about turkey basters.

Horse people say the darnedest things!:D
