I have a Fuerst Gotthard mare that I bred to Grandom in 2003 and have a lovely 5yo hunter mare by that match. My trainer is interested in re-breeding my mare to him, in hopes that lightening will strike twice. I know Edgar had sold him to his daughter at Spring Meadows Hanoverians, but he no longer appears on their website. Does anyone know what has happened to him?

I have always wanted another one. They are like potato chips! I just can't afford 3. I had been hoping someone else might be interested in breeding her and giving her a "job". I'd love to see her have one or two more. There have been a couple of folks interested, but nothing has resulted, so far. Now, it looks like it might be a go, assuming all is well with her. We'd like to order one JUST like the last one! It would be a lot of fun to have another kid around.

There are a bunch of photos of Sydney (Grand Illusion) here:

There are, also, some videos of the first few times she jumped on my Facebook page, as well.

Did you try asking Edgar?

When he just "disappeared", I feared he may have died, which is why I did not contact his daughter directly. I noticed all the videos of him had been removed from You Tube, so I was afraid of the worst and that maybe she was having a hard time dealing with it, but did find that he is now in Ontario, as was posted earlier and have e-mailed his new owner about breeding to him. A big relief, as I feared we may have waited a bit too long. Now, fingers crossed that a breeding soundness exam on my mare will find everything OK for breeding.

Love your mare and filly. Very nice.

I think your mare Heidi is quite a producer. Fuerst Gotthard was pretty special.. not only in his success but as an individual, a stunning horse. I felt Grandom was a bit older style for today's market but your filly certainly doesn't reflect that, and neither do his offspring page, which ultimately is what matters most in a stallion. Wow.

I know this is a total change but have you ever met the stallion Cunningham?
I just have a soft spot for that horse. He is not only handsome but has a charismatic charachter that makes him very unique. I Used to photograph around the west coast shows and I really like this horse. I bet he would be awesome on either of your mares.

Rainbow Equus have a list of very impressive stallions to choose from. and are super nice folks. Edgar and Susan. I visited a few years back and have some fond memories of the visit.

I enjoyed your pics. Good luck in whatever you decide.
