View Full Version : AHS Registration question?

I have a friend who has a coming two year old colt (DOB: Summer 2008). He is by a Celle stallion, and out of an imported Hanoverian who is registered, has had AHS foals, etc...

There was a miscommunication with one person thinking the other person sent in the registration paperwork (he was not going to be inspected due to finacial reasons). Long story short, there has not been any paperwork sent in at all. The owners have an interested party in purchasing the colt, and they want him as a stallion prospect. They also want him to be branded if possible.

So my question is:

a) Is it possible to get ANY sort of registration from AHS on him?
b) If so, can he still be branded?

Thanks in advance!

From the AHS web site in the corporate rules/regulations section:
Registration papers should generally only be issued
in the year of birth, but no later than the end of the
yearling year.

So its my understanding they have until this colt turns two to get him registered. After that its too late.

Thanks for the replies :) Yes, my friend will be calling the office first thing tomorrow morning... we were just wondering if there was any hope?

Did you find out if the colt can be registered?

Yes, the owners of the colt found out he can be registered! I believe it's a stretch for the registry, but they are going to do... my understanding is that they are going to do it because the colt hasn't reached his second birthday yet.

What a relief!
