I saw this little guy advertised for sale, and thought he was a flaxen chestnut, until I remembered his sire was homozygous for the black gene.
The owners did DNA test him, and he is indeed a bay.
He is a purebred Arabian by Khartoon Khlassic.

I wonder if he is a silver bay. It's like normal bay, but the silver gene dilutes the black points to grayish/brownish and the mane and tail to white/gray.

Look at the 2008 foal that also born chestnut but turned bay with grey in its mane.

I and many others were wondering the same, but the test results are:
E/e, A/A and N/N for the silver gene

Is it maybe the sabino/rabicano whatever else might be going on there?
My stallion's tail *looks* flaxen, until you are up (reeeeeeally) close, and it's a combination of white hair with his chestnut. He's got rabicano & sabino as well as his tobi.
Interesting.
