I have two WB weanling foals that will be outside much of the winter. One of them has a fantastic thick wooly coat, but the other, like his mother, has a finer coat. I have a Rhino size 60 turnout sheet, but it doesn't fit either...the front buckles drop below the point of their shoulders...the neck hole is too big. Most "foal" blankets I have found are too small (up to size 51") or have a velcro front piece. Any suggestions?? Any luck with TuffRider...I've found some good deals on them. All suggestions very much appreciated! TIA:yes:

I used three different ones on my weenie last year. We have a pony that inherited the outgrown clothes--two t/o sheets, one an HIB, one a Riders, and a heavy pony Rhino t/o--all were sized 64-66, I think.
It's a good idea to 'cloth' them from a young age, not because they need it so much, but because it sets a precedent for being able to easily 'dress' them when they are older. My filly's dam had never worn clothes when we got her at age 6, and it was a little hard on us all  to say the least!

I love the fit on my 60" thinsulate t/o by SmartPak. It was the third brand to be tried on a 6 mo weanling. The others were either to big in the chest or hung way to low on the sides. The SmartPak t/o fits very well and has the added advantage of being a thinsulate so baby doesn't get bogged down with the added weight that some turnouts have.

Look on line for Pony blankets. That is what we have purchased for our babies. They seem to fit them better b/c the weenies have no chest to speak of to hold up the front of the blanket.
Of course I have one moose of a baby this year who is in a 62 and she's 7 months old.

I have to say personally I love the SSTack blankets. They have a entire Junior Line

I personally got the storm shield type that has a adjustment on the shoulder, it was a nice addition to have for my filly's growing body.

Ditto on the pony blanket! Although it is a bit "roomy" in the shoulders, it's adorable for my princess filly! Rara Equus - pink with little hearts all over it! Ok, ok, I know but she's my first baby & my first girl - EVER! Indulge me!!
