My horse developed a windpuff in her right hind leg roughly 2 months ago, right above her fetlock on the side. It caused some swelling in her pastern, but eventually went away after giving bute, cold hosing, poulticing, etc.
Approx 2-3 weeks ago I noticed her pastern started looking stocked up again, but she was not lame on it and it would go down with work. I gave her a few doses of bute, did some cold hosing and hoped it would go away. It still continues to swell up at night, (or when she is standing) and I don't know why. Could it be because of a soft tissue injury and not the windpuffs?
I don't know if I'm overreacting here, since she's not visibly lame to me, but she does tend to rest that right hind leg a LOT when standing.
Advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
