I asked about this website in this forum a couple of weeks ago, and was thrilled to learn they are offering free 24 hour access to their basic service.

It's pretty good information and their support is really good as they were missing a grain I feed and when I alerted them, it was added in a couple of hours.

I think it's worth looking at and thought it was cool they allowed free access.

I would be curious to know what others think of it.

You can get the same service fro free from most feed companies, thoughthat always means using their feeds.
Dr Juliet Getty also does this, as does Dr Kellon. They both charge.

I do it for free. up to a point.

There is a lot of nutrition advice available on the net.

Okay, I tried it.

The program is interesting but the "lite" version doesn't go into enough detail to really offer recommendations.

Yes, my horse's diet was deemed sufficient but it didn't ask me about issues that I had to explore when I was finding the right mix for him. I had to "tweak" it a lot along the way to find a regime that keeps weight on him without making him too hot and which is geared toward minimizing ulcers. Perhaps the more advanced version goes into more detail.

I created Freedom's diet by reading about nutrition on the web, working with a Purina nutritionist, and asking lots of questions. I know lots of folks don't like to use the nutritionists from the feed companies but they are free, they come to your barn and actually look at your horse, and so far they haven't promoted anything that I think is out of line (they did not push me to feed more of their feed or try to get me to buy more products. I actually feed a ration balancer so am at the low end of feed consumptions).

Just my thoughts.

Also, Dr. Getty answers a lot of nutritional questions on her forum at no charge. She's helped clarify a few issues for me in the past (as has Melyni!).

I agree, as the "lite" version didn't contain enough useful information for me, however, it was free so I can't complain. I didn't know about the other resources you mentioned, but will look into them, thanks!
