I have a 3yo WB who is recovering from surgery to repair a pretty nasty heel bulb laceration. The vet finally cleared him for light turnout (Yeah!!!!). I definitely need good bell boots to protect the area, but which ones? I have a decent assortment to choose from. The vet picked the hard roma velcro boots, but they rubbed the back of his pastern during his first turnout. They ARE a size or maybe 2 too big. Should I get a pair of those in his size, or is there something better? Protecting the area without causing rubs is of critical importance......

My mare gets rubbed easily by her bell boots on one foot (there's an old scar) anyway, I just wrap the area with vet wrap before putting the boots on and they don't bother her at all. Not sure if that would work for your guy or not, but might be worth a try
