Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!
As a Pediatric CV intensive care nurse, it is my year to work the holidays. We are all bringing food for potluck and most of us are bringing toys for the kids, esp the ones that have been there awhile.
Any one else working?

I am. Vet tech at an equine hospital. Silly ponies don't know not to get sick on Christmas :) A co-worker who has the night off brings us some food from her family dinner. Third year in a row I'm working Christmas. I think next year is my year off...

Me too. Working Fri. and Sat. night-6-6. I'm in law enforcement, and hopefully, people will behave. Usually by night fall, everyone gets to drinking and fighting, so I'm sure I'll have some guests at the jail! My crew is like a second family, so it won't be too bad!

The help is off again tomorrow and I'm doing full chores with the help of hubby. That's work with 12 stalls to muck and 40 horses to feed. We have to put out hay (big bales) tomorrow and have dinner at 2 pm with friends. Then we pack for our trip! :-)

I'm also in law enforcement and I'm working today and tomorrw. We are all bringing some food tomorrow so we can still celebrate Christmas. I really hope everyone else will behave and it will be a peaceful day

Another one in L.E. It's been crazy today. I've been on a burg in progress (got 'em), 3 DV's, accidents, accidents, and more accidents, a suicide, and a drunk lady that drove to the grocery store and passed out in the store.
Since the day is already shot, I took an off duty job directing traffic for the evening at one of the big churches. I've only almost been hit once....but there's still time....crazy people.

Who knows what tomorrow will bring.

Same profession as Grataan so I'm on call for everyone that isn't...

Could have used your help Grataan. Just returned from "attempting" to treat several goats that decided to gorge on Amanitas mushrooms. I have decided passing a tube on a horse is alot easier. I am covered in goat puke and my cats think I smelled real interesting.

What is it with goats? I had a couple the other day (their owner calls them the three musketeers) feast on Rhodies!

What are Rhodies?

I'd love to see what these mushroom-eating goats' liver values look like in 48 hours.

And I am done for a three day weekend. I'm pinching myself. We finished after 8 hours tonight and I got to come home early plus my first two hours technically qualify for overtime pay. I'm sufficiently thankful to have been allowed to go home I may ignore that.
Looks like a quiet at home Xmas as MIL doesn't want to drive through sleet and ice. Merry Christmas to those of you still on duty and working the rest of the weekend!

Transportation company here. We run 24/7. I worked until 6pm tonight and am in at 6am tomorrow. It's a short shift, though, so I'll be out when it's still daylight. Thank goodness.

TV. Not only working, but in charge tomorrow :D:eek: As one of my friends boggled, "So you're running the network?" And I realized I was. Sort of ;)

We're all bringing in a dish, and should have a pretty easy day of it. I did the holiday thing with my parents/brother yesterday and today, which was nice.

I'm praying for rain tomorrow. If the weather is good I'm sure it will be a heavy trauma day with all the morons and their new toys.

<waves hand from the ED desk>

Me! I started a "roll call" thread, but guess I forgot to say WORKING in it. :p

I worked 10-20 on Thurs, and came back at 00 for my ED shift, here until 06.

Which isn't a whole shift, but...

Hoping-hoping Santa really brings the mild weather forecast so I can play with ponies today when I get up.

(which really, in my mind, is 'tomorrow.' Today is today until I go to sleep. When I wake up, it's tomorrow. )

It's because I'm at work I need Kodak Photo disk help. Anyone??? (see t'other thread)

This is actually the first time in more than a decade I haven't been on patrol or dispatch for Christmas. Closest thing to a Christmas day off in 20+ years!

Yep.

Trainer in England, barn help off for the holiday.

It's just me and 20 stalls to clean, turn outs to do, horses to ride and medical attention to be given.

Yesterday and today.

I somehow got my normally scheduled Thurs, Fri off this week. I thought for sure I would be bumped for someone with more seniority. I did work job #2 for 6 hrs yesterday, but got home for church and dinner. I've been feeling dumpy the last few weeks and that went a long way in helping. Back to work tomorrow.
