View Full Version : Bruce Davidson`s 60th!!!
Dec. 24, 2009, 11:01 AM
Bruce was born on the last day of the decade of the 1940s, December 31, 1949.
So-----He`s about to hit the big 60.
Send him a card, or a present, or even a roast! And just be glad you had a chance to watch him in action, all these years. Mega-superstars come along at the rate of about one per century, and all you active riders, even if you are only 8 years old, you can say that your riding career overlapped with Bruce Davidson`s.

If my math is right, BD would be 68 years old if born in 1941. Did you mean he was born in 1941 or 1951?
Anyway, happy birthday, Bruce.

Fixed it. `41 was my year, so it was easy to write. Bruce is a foal of `49.
Thanks for the sharp eye!

Oh he's gonna be so MAD at you for outing him!
Happy Birthday to Bruce, and an early or belated Happy Birthday to you, too, Denny. May we all be blessed for many more years with your wisdom, humor, knowledge, and bad jokes.

OMG, how did we all get so old?? It has been fun to watch, though, hasn't it?

My thoughts, exactly! He is only two and a half years older than I.
I wish that I had even a smidgen of the horsemanship/horsemastership that he has accumulated during his almost 60 years.
Happy Birthday! BD.

I grew up wth Bruce (and Denny!) as my idols, since I am 52 years old! They were the ones I watched and wanted to follow, of course I never made it nearly as far as they did, but it was great watching them suceed and make this sport what it became in the 70's and 80's. Of course, there were LOTS of other great riders, but these two are definitely the "Standouts"!

I am not sure I did this right but this is a photo Bill took of the victory gallop from the Atlanta Olympics. Bruce is on the left. Always wanted to get everyones autograph on that picture.
Happy Birthday Bruce!
