Has anyone ridden in one or own one? Just wondering what people think about them. TIA

Had one of the newer ones and HATED it. Never felt balanced jumping or even flatting in it, so I sold it ASAP and always felt a little bad for the person who bought it.

I've had one for about 18 months now. I actually like it, but I must admit it's a "second saddle," used mostly on a back-up horse, so it doesn't get ridden in as much as my primary Pessoa Legacy Event. Both of them have a pretty forward flap, which accomodates my long hip-to-knee length.

The Legacy Event is cushier, grippier leather, but the BT has been fine from a balance perspective. The flap is also a little less forward than the LE. While I prefer to event in the LE, I've used the BT for hunting, and it was a fine balance for me there, as well as general trails and ring work.

Totally agree with NeverTime.

I rode for quite some time in a friend's older model and loved it, so I decided to buy my own. Luckily, I heard that the design/manufacturing had changed substantially, so I took one out on trial instead of buying it right away. Wow.... was I glad I did that. It was a totally different (and lesser) saddle and I sent it back immediately and bought something else.

It's unfortunate because the older model is a really nicely balanced saddle.

I test rode in one for about a minute, and got off...it was a horrible feeling saddle!

Too funny. I admit that I got mine off eBay -- specifically because I'd ridden in an older one and loved it. Unlike SevenDogs, I didn't know the whole manufacturer and everything had changed and it was basically the same old name on a much cheaper saddle. Stay away.

The Blythe Tait is not a bad saddle in my opinion, just a bit dated. The Pessoa Legay Event is awesome.

I have the Pessoa Legacy XL. It's very similar to the Legacy Event but the seat is a bit deaper and the flap isn't as forward. I have pretty short legs so I didn't need the forward flap.

I really like it, it's comfy and balanced. I can fox hunt all day in it or jump.

I barely escaped the same fate. I was also shopping on eBay at the time -- seemed perfect since I knew exactly what saddle/size/etc. I don't remember where I heard things had changed, but was so glad I did! Not even close to the same saddle.

I have a blyth tait that I purchased about 2.5 years ago new. Have never had any problems with it and it fits my thoroughbred well. I will say it was my first jumping/xc saddle to purchase and i have ridden in more comfortable saddles since then.
