So - first snow of the season for us :)
After spending yesterday and today walking across all the pastures to catch the horses at feed time because they thought monsters were after them, breaking frozen waterers, a truck that won't start (our only 4WD vehicle), and lots of frozen slop.....my husband got some pictures of 3 of our homebreds I just really want to share.
This is my 4 y/o Irish gelding, yearling Irish filly, and weanling Belgian WB filly in the snow yesterday as it was falling http://s264.photobucket.com/albums/ii170/okgottago/Horses/?start=all - watching them was an absolute joy.
He also got some of our 3 pooches for those of you killing some time on the computer this a.m. :) http://s264.photobucket.com/albums/ii170/okgottago/Dogs/?start=all
As soon as I finish the coffee, back out to turn horses out, clean off our drive and out to Walmart for a new battery for the truck....

Oh, what FABULOUS photos! Did you take them in b&w or play with them after?
I love the mood... love the horses too... <drool>
OH MY GOODNESSSSS when I visit your farm you'd better check the truck for Aussies and yellerdogs before I leave! Wonderful dog piccies made me smile too. I cannot BELIEVE how big the Auss has gotten already, I'm just remembering the puppy pics (was it with chicks, I think too?)
Sorry 'bout the farm truck... I was a little dismayed when I got up to find not the 2" predicted but much closer to 6. :uhoh: Then I got OUT in it, and can't help but smile. I'm bummed I'm at work all day, I'd rather be playing. Of course, ours is over 6" of mud, so ponies won't be clean for long... But it sure was nice for them to have CLEAN snow to lie down on.

well, and heck, looking at the dog piccies again, I couldn't leave the big lug behind, the others would miss him. I could hide them in the dressing room of the trailer... :p
I think THIS is my favorite http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii170/okgottago/Dogs/1stsnowDec2009160.jpg
Tied quite closely with this: http://i264.photobucket.com/albums/ii170/okgottago/Dogs/1stsnowDec2009198.jpg

Thanks all :) We had fun watching the games, and it's nice that we captured some of the moments. Our lab is old and really slowing down, so it was nice to see him getting into it a bit too (not that he had much of a choice, lol).
http://s264.photobucket.com/albums/ii170/okgottago/Horses/?action=view¤t=1stsnowDec2009096.jpg this is my favorite horse picture only because he is ALWAYS up to something and we never catch him in the act, we finally caught the naughty in action!

Yes, that would be Durham, lol. His daughter (the recipient of the tail yank) is just as impish (sighs)....gelding him did not slow him down one bit, lol.
PP - you don't have pics of your perlino on-line yet do you?? You going to breed her next year?

Great pictures! Your Aussie/Lab combo reminds me so much of my young red tri female (same collar even!) and my coming-10 year old male Golden. Those little Aussies sure are good for the old guys :)

all wonderful but my favorite-is above--the horses seem to be transformed into a single horse-a horse god with many legs to run and nostrils to breath in the wind.:-)

Awesome awesome awesome pictures!
You might want to get your gardener to check for diseases though, I think there's an abnormal growth (http://s264.photobucket.com/albums/ii170/okgottago/Dogs/?action=view¤t=P1040049.jpg)!
