I've cross posted this in Eventing, as this lady may have been active in H/J and eventing.
Another thread here jogged my memory and this name popped up. I was a horse-crazy kid in 1960's Texas. She was evidently a highly-regarded rider. At the conclusion of an event at (I recall) Twenty-Mile Farm, she graciously allowed me to ride her lovely horse. Probably to shut my mother up. Long story, embarrassing day for me. Mother was being a pest.
Twenty-Mile Farm was just down the road a bit from Walter Strauss's place, Three Day Farm.
Does anyone remember Helen Ingmire? She made an awful day in my childhood memorable for her kindness.
