At home, we have our feed mixed for us. We do not used prepared feeds. What prepared feeds are considered the high energy feeds? So many seem to have beet pulp, which I do not equate with high energy. thanks for any information.

I agree about the beet pulp. You might want to try stabalized rice bran. I prefer the pellets. Very high in fat - can't remember exactly how but I think it's like 40-something %. I use it on a TB mare who needs to maintain her weight. Not particularly high in carbs, so it doesn't make them silly.
