Hey Hall of Fame, you'd be so proud of your boy. The first time he did this he was about 9 months old, that time he scraped his chest. He's definitely improving his technique but he did get a rub behind..
Funnily I just happened to catch it on video.

And a nice still photo to commemorate the occasion.

Wow! He just sprung right over that fence like it was nothing in true Hall of Fame style! Thanks for the smile this boring work afternoon. I do have to ask, what's his dam's breeding?

The stinker! How the heck are you going to keep him in now that he can jump out that easily? :)

His dam is a nice little mare who's papers got lost and no one knows her breeding. She makes the most fabulous babies. She's about 16 hands and both my boys out of her, 1 is 17.2 & 1/2 and this one is approaching 17.1.

Eeks!
I have a coming 3 year old Pablo filly that has jumped out of her pasture twice into another pasture with different horses (I guess she was bored with her companion:lol:). Haven't seen her do it, just found her.
She did jump out of my arena while I was watching, but didn't quite fully clear the top board because it cracked (she was trotting slowly up to it and then decided to jump). At least your boy was cantering!
And keeping them in is a bit of a worry!

That is so cool that you caught it ! But now you get to worry about him X(
My now 2 yr old filly jumped out of our arena as a 4mo old, so I have always worried about her trying it again, but so far so good !

Funny thing is we free jumped him as a yearling and my friend who was helping said "Dressage horse then?"
LOL.

WOW! He definitely makes it look easy!
I'm so glad my Freedom Z boy hasn't made any escapes in a while. When he was a weanling he jumped out of his stall (3' square window with the bottom 5' above the floor) and hopped over the 4'6" fence into the neighboring pasture. He could definitely leave the pasture if he wanted, but I don't think he'd fit through the window anymore ;) He's 2 1/2 and right at 17hh of moose.
